About Dr. William Eichorn

Dr. William Eichorn has his voice degrees from Illinois Wesleyan University, Bachelor of Music and Northwestern University, Master of Music in voice where he was a student of Hermanus Baer. He also studied Vocal Pedagogy with Richard Miller through Linfield College, Portland Oregon. His Doctorate is in Biblical Studies working in the Biblical, theological and historical study of worship through the Robert E. Webber Institute of Worship Studies in Jacksonville, Florida. He also has had further vocal studies in New York with Marlena Malas and in Italy, Spain and Germany.

Dr. Eichorn was a Solo Artist at the New York City Opera under the Direction of Beverly Sills. He has sung around the country with numerous orchestras and opera companies and has taught for many years both privately and in academia. He is at home both as a conductor as well as a voice teacher. He has taught opera workshops for several universities.

 As a younger singer, Dr. Eichorn won several prestigious awards. Twice he was a regional finalist in the national Metropolitan Opera Auditions, first in Chicago and then in Philadelphia where he went on to sing in New York City. There he had the great fortune to have the world renown soprano Beverly Sills hear him and was then asked to sing at the New York City Opera house. He has also won a first prize at the International Voice Competition, Francisco Vinas, in Barcelona, Spain as the “Best Mozart Singer”. Eichorn made his European Opera debut in Italy at the Opera Barga Festival.
